SKHynix Gold S31 1TB Internal SSD review

I think that one of the most common problem that most PC gamers have is space limitation. From the thousands of games brought over time through the Steam sales to editing videos at 60fps in 4K resolution, space can be a very precious commodity. Modern rigs are now equipped with two harddrives: a Solid State Drive (SSD) and a Hard Disk Drive (HDD). This is so that the OS can be stored on one while files and other programs can be stored and booted on the other, thus cutting down load times and CPU usage. Even with two drives, space can be quickly filled. Lucky most PC rigs have extra space in the casing to store more harddrives, SSDs being the harddrives of choice due to being faster, more efficient, and  larger storage space, all with in a formfitting design that is smaller than traditional HDDs. With so many to choose from, it can be hard to pick one out and can be daunting for those who are new to building/upgrading Gaming PCs (like myself). Fortunately I had the chance to try out a brand new SSD that just got released into the market, the SK Hynix Gold S31 1TB Internal SSD from SK Hynix.

Now I’ll be honest, while I do like tech, I am kind of a newbie when it comes to the more technical side of things. For me it comes down to how easy is it for me to install and once install the ease of use. Installing the S31 was pretty easy, just plug in the ribbon cable (which was not included) from the SSD to the computer and that’s it. As for ease of use, transferring and installing files was fast and easy, at least a few second faster than the other 1TB HDD that I have installed as well.
The SK Hynix Gold S31 1TB Internal SSD compared to other similar 1TB SSDs is a bit pricey at $118, but coming from the third largest semiconductor in the world and second in South Korea (Samsung being the first) you are getting a quality product. If price is an issue, SK Hynix also sells 250GB and 500GB at a more affordable price point ($49.99 and $69.99 respectively). SO if you’re looking to add more hard drive space, update your hard drive or trying to look for a hard drive for a computer build, the SK Hynix Gold S31 1TB Internal SSD is a good choice for the price.
