PAX South 2020: N1RV ANN-A impressions

Last year one of my favorite games on the Nintendo Switch was a game called VA-11 HALL-A (pronounced Valhalla) . Described as a “Cyberpunk Bartending Acton” game, VA-11 HALL-A was a visual novel/point n’ click game that took place in Glitch City, where corruption is the norm and the synthetic drink are on tap. Players take on the role of Jill, an engineer turn bartender as she serves the denizens of Glitch City, hear their stories and contemplate her own life. It’s a really good game and I highly recomend checking it (and my review) out. Now in the game, it’s mention that VA-11 HALL-A isn’t the only bar having trouble. In the artificial island paradise of Saint Alicia nothing as it seems as high class and successful patrons of N1RV ANN-A have very shady secrets to tell as they drown their sorrows away.

N1RV ANN-A play much like VA11 HALL-A, you mixs drinks for the people that visit the bar. Now what drinks you serve them will result in different responses. In the demo that we played, we served a woman who just got off of work, complaining about how everyone in the corporate world are nothing but two faced back stabbing lairs and cheaters who will do anything to get ahead. People who are nice and honest will never move up. And yet as she says this to you she admits that she too contributes to the culture and maybe is just as bad as the people who she hates.

Final thoughts: I really enjoyed VA-11 HALL-A and from what I’ve played in the PAX South 2020 demo, I’m definitely going to enjoy N1RV ANN-A. The game doesn’t have a set release date yet, but it will release sometime this year.l
