This big boy is the myCharge RAZORXTREME-PD portable charger. Let’s address the elephant in the room first: the price. At just under $100 the RAZORXTREME-PD a pretty pricey charger. Now I know what you might be thinking: “With how big it is, I bet I could get a similar sized charger at half the price or even less”. And yes there are similar sized chargers out there, but the RAZORXTREME-PD is not just your run of the mill battery charger. The RAZORXTREME-PD was designed for gamers and those who carry tech with them wherever they go.

Let’s talk battery power. Your average mass produced portable chargers that you can buy at a Wal-Mart are usually around 5000 mAh on average. This can give most smartphones at least one full charge but can take a while to recharge. The COAL Portable Charger (which was on last year’s last minute Holiday gift guide) was my main charger for almost a whole year. At 12000 mAh, the COAL was able to fully charge my phone in under two hours and have enough power to charge it up two more times, fully charge both my Dad’s and sister’s phones and keep my brother’s phone from dying. And when fully charged, the COAL can fully charge my Nintendo Switch. The only down side is that it only has one USB-A port, which means you have to decide which device gets priority charge. This is where the RAZORXTREME-PD blows everything out of the water.

At a whopping 26800mAh, the RAZORXTREME-PD has power for days, literally. It was able to fully charge all the phones in my house, my tablet, and two Switches, all in about an hour (faster if used a fast charging data cable) and still have enough charge to power a sizable Bluetooth speaker, my nieces tablets and not even be half empty yet.The reason for this is that the RAZORXTREME-PD is outputting 45W. To put this perspetive, the RAZORXTREME-PD has enough power to charge up a USB-C device such as a Microsoft Surface laptop/tablet.

The RAZORXTREME-PD has a minimalist yes sleek design to it. The body is made out of anodized aluminum, which helps to increase corrosion resistance. There’s only four small led lights that displays the power level of the charger. I feel that this is the RAZORXTREME-PD only flaw, as I liked seeing the percentage of charging power in the COAL. Though one of the best features of the RAZORXTREME-PD is that it has two USB-A ports. This allows for dual charging, ie charging two devices at once. You would think that by charging two different devices at a time that the batter would drain right? Wrong. It handles two android phones with ease. It powered an android and a iPhone 6 without a sweat. It took a licking with charging up my 2013 Samsung Note10.1 and my Nintendo Switch (the older model) and still kept ticking. By the time I had to recharge the RAZORXTREME-PD, about two weeks went by. And it only took about a day or so to fully recharge (3 hours if I had a PD45W wall adapter) before I could charge everything up again.

The myCharge RAZORXTREME-PD is a beast of a charger. It can charge two devices at once and still have enough power to charge even more up. It even packs enough power to charge a USB-C laptop/tablet. It’s minimalist design looks sleek, though I wished it had a digital display to show how much power is left instead of led lights. If your the type who carries a lot of tech around with you and are tired of carrying multiple smaller power banks, the RAZORXTREME-PD is a must have in your arsenal.
