I believe I’ve mentioned before that over the past few years visual novels have started to gain popularity among gamers, or at least raised awareness that they exist. When more VNs get localized and released, we get to to see a wide variety of them, just like 428: Shibuya Scramble.
428: Shibuya Scramble is a unique VN due to the fact that instead of being 2D it uses live action stills and video sequences to tell its story. Speaking of story, the game takes place in the Shibuya Ward of Tokyo, which most people will recognize the location for its famous crosswalk scramble. In the game a major event has occurred in Shibuya that could jolt the world. Five strangers who make up the main cast must come together to solve what seemed to be an ordinary kidnapping in ten hours. The game was originally released in 2008 on the Wii and in 2009 on the PS3 and PSP. Now 428: Shibuya Scramble will see a release on September 4, 2018 for PS4 and PC via Steam.
