When Pokken Tournament was announced for an arcade release, not many people from both fandoms knew what to make of it. On the one hand, Pokemon fans are pretty excited to finally be able to a fighting game based on Pokemon that’s outside the Battle Arena series. As for Tekken fans, they’re just wondering when the next Tekken is going to be released. The game was released in Japanese arcade this past July, but was taken out of rotation in some arcades due to a lack of popularity.
However all is not lost for the game, as it has finally received a release date, at least in Japan. Pokken Tournament will see a release date of March 18, ,2016 exclusively for the Wii U. While a North American release date as yet to be announced, it can be assumed that the game will release on Tuesday on the same week as the Japanese release, since most NA games release on a Tuesday. We’ll just have to wait and see what Nintendo has to say.
