Nintendo finally shows off Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem during direct

There are two franchises that are not Square Enix owned that have fierce and hardcore fan base, at least in my opinion, are Shin Megami Tensei and Fire Emblem. Though Shin Megami Tensei (SMT for short) has various successful spin offs, the core SMT games have remained on Nintendo consoles. The same could be said about Fire Emblem, an Nintendo only game. Then for some reason, developers from both games met up and said let’s do a crossover. And thus the Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem project was born. It has been almost a year since the project was talked about and fans almost lost hope…..till today. Even though it was April Fool’s Day, during the Nintendo Direct, they showed off the following trailer:

In the teaser we get to see some gameplay and how the two art styles will mixed together. Its kind of strange but I could get used to it. Plus you gotta love that upbeat JPop track playing the background offsetting a game about killing monsters. There’s no word yet on a release date, but with E3 just a few months away I’m sure we will hear more about it.
